QUESTION FRAME/SWING ARM
I’m having problem lubricating my Swing Arm of my 1972 Norton Commando. I have the 140 grade oil but having problems getting oil through the “grease” nipple. Do you by any chance sell the nipple and an oil can that will clip onto the nipple to allow the oil to be forced in? I cannot find an oil can with such an end fitting here in Australia. What do you guys recommend or use? Is there an oil can that will clip onto the nipple in UK? Thanks for any help you may have.
ANSWER
Theoretically a standard grease gun fits and you have a grease gun filled with 140 oil. Sometimes its a bit tricky and something of a nuisance. I tend to lean the bike over onto its side remove the nipple and fill it up through the grease nipple hole, its not something that needs doing very often so I would tend to do it when I was changing the oil ( so the oil tank is empty) and either with a close to empty petrol tank or with the tank removed. hope that helps.
